Kanguva Faces Multiple Challenges Ahead of Release

Suriya’s much-awaited film Kanguva, directed by Siva and featuring Bobby Deol and Disha Patani, is gearing up for a grand release. Despite its high expectations and a massive ₹300-350 crore budget, the film has encountered several hurdles before its release.

Originally announced in 2019, Kanguva was delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic but was revived in 2022. However, just days before its release, the Madras High Court issued an order for the producers to deposit ₹20 crore due to an old financial dispute, creating last-minute uncertainty.

Additionally, the Tamil Nadu government denied the film’s request for early morning screenings, limiting its showtimes to 9 am onwards. Meanwhile, neighboring states like Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, and Kerala are offering earlier slots, which could impact the film’s opening day collections in Tamil Nadu.

Advance bookings also faced delays, frustrating fans who were eager to secure tickets. On top of this, the film is dealing with distribution issues in the Nizam region, with rival films causing complications for screen allocation.

With the ongoing success of Amaran adding to the competition, Kanguva must overcome these obstacles to make a strong debut.
