Temples opened after lockdown relaxations

As the Tamilnadu government announced additional relaxations, while extending the Covid lockdown by yet another week till 5 July, about 3,000 temples in Chennai and its three neighbouring districts welcomed devotees from today morning.

Chief Minister M K Stalin, while announcing extending the lockdown from today for one more week, said temples, churches, mosques and places of worship would be allowed to open for public by following the Standard Operating Procerues (SOPs).

Temple and all places of worship were closed for devotees since 10 May when the State government announced total and complete lockdown to control the spread of coronavirus.
