Demands of TN fishermen will be fulfilled: MoS Murugan

Union Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting, Fisheries, Dairying and Animal Husbandry L Muruga visited the project site of fishing harbours that are being built in the backwaters in Azhagankuppam in Villupuram district and Alamparaikuppam in Chengalpet district of Tamilnadu, as part of Fisheries and Aquaculture Infrastructure Development Fund (FIDF).

The two fishing harbours are being constructed at a cost of Rs. 235 crore to fulfill the long-standing demands of 64 hamlets. Dr Murugan suggested various incorporations like construction of hospital, ice factory and processing units in the proposed Fishing harbour to reduce input costs.
