DVAC raids 58 places related to SP Velumani in disproportionate assets case

Sleuths of DVAC have been carrying out searches in 58 places in Chennai and other districts related to AIADMK leader and former minister S P Velumani in connection with a fresh disproportionate case registered against him.

Searches are underway in 41 places in Coimbatore, 8 places in Chennai, 4 in Salem, 2 in Tirupattur, one each at Krishnagiri, Namakkal districts apart from his farm house in Kerala.

Apart from Velumani, DVAC have also booked his brother P Anbarasan, the latter’s wife Hemalatha and other relatives among 10 people and three firms in the new case.

In the first information report, DVAC has stated that Velumani and his family members have amassed wealth valued at Rs 58.28 crore which are disproportionate to their known sources of income and stand at 3,928 per cent.
