The AIADMK will file an appeal againstĀ the Madras High Court order quashing the acquisition of late
leader J Jayalalithaa’s Poes garden residence “Veda Nilayam”Ā to convert it into a memorial.

Talking to reporters at Salem, party co-coordinator EdappadiĀ K Palaniswami said Jayalalithaa’s house was a temple forĀ the AIADMK cadres and the party will file an appeal againstĀ the High Court order.

Converting the house into a memorial was the ‘wholeheartedĀ desire’ of the AIADMK party workers.

On a petition filed by Jayalalithaa’s niece J Deepa and nephewĀ J Deepak, the High Court quashed the order issued by the previousĀ AIADMK government acquiring Veda Nilayam and also directed thatĀ the house should be handed over to them in three weeks.

Following the court order, both Deepa and Deepak filedĀ a petition before the Chennai Collector demanding handing overĀ of the keys of the house to them.
