Mr. Chandrasekar, VP of the Paralympic Committee, Praises Tamil Nadu Athletes – Honoring their Medal Victories
26 September 2024, 11:19 amCoimbatore, September 25th: Indian athletes gave an outstanding performance at the Paralympic Games in France last month, and Tamil Nadu was a big part of it. Sixteen athletes from Tamil Nadu represented India, and together, the team won 29 medals.
Among the winners, Tulsi Mathi won a silver medal in badminton, while Nityashree and Manisha won bronze medals in the same event. In athletics, Mariappan added another silver to the tally.
Vice President of the Indian Paralympic Committee and President of the Tamil Nadu Paralympic Association, Engineer R. Chandrasekar, complimented the athletes on their achievements. Since 2020, Chandrasekar has made a significant effort to provide the athletes with the necessary coaching and assistance.
He has organized many events in places like Coimbatore and Chennai to help the athletes prepare for big competitions at state, national, and international levels.
“With more support and training, our differently-abled athletes are demonstrating their talents like never before on international stages,” said Chandrasekar, promising continued assistance to help special players excel in their respective sports.
