Suriya’s Kanguva Sets New Records in Telugu States

Suriya, one of the most celebrated and bankable stars in the South, commands a massive fan base in Tamil Nadu and a growing following in the Telugu states. His films consistently outshine other Tamil releases in the region, with Kanguva being the latest example. As reported by OTT Play, a top distributor secured the Telugu theatrical rights for an impressive ₹25 crore, setting a new benchmark for a 2024 Tamil film. This deal surpasses the Telugu rights of Vijay’s GOAT (₹17 crore) and Rajinikanth’s Vettaiyan (₹16 crore), reaffirming Suriya’s dominance.

Scheduled for release on November 14, Kanguva will feature special early morning shows at 1 AM and 4 AM in the Telugu states, as confirmed by the distributor. Suriya’s recent promotional visit to Hyderabad was met with an overwhelming fan response, leaving the actor emotional as he expressed heartfelt gratitude.

Directed by Siruthai Siva, Kanguva stars Suriya in a dual role, alongside Disha Patani and Bobby Deol. The multilingual period drama is poised for a record-breaking debut at the box office.
