Virat Kohli in Ranji 2024-25 Probables List Released by DDCA: Will He Play After 12 Years?
27 September 2024, 4:39 pmFor the 2024–2025 Ranji Trophy seasons, the Delhi and District Cricket Association (DDCA) has announced a list of 84 probable players, which includes the Indian Stars, Virat Kolhi, and Rishabh Pant.
There’s a lot of enthusiasm among the fans because if Kohli plays for Delhi, it will be his first Ranji participation since 2012.
After the release, a previous clip of Kohli and Dinesh Karthik conversing went viral. Kohli related a personal incident from his early cricket career to it. He recounted how, due to some backroom politics, he was cut from Delhi’s Under-14 squad at 1 AM.
Kohli’s father, Prem Nath Kolhi had a deal to pay for his comeback, but he turned it down. Later, someone else was given the chance against compensation. “If he can play on his talent, then so be it,” his father stated. If not, it wasn’t intended to be.” Those words stuck with Kohli and drove him to where he is today.
The Ranji Trophy holds a lot of emotion for Kohli. The day after his father’s death in December 2006, Kohli scored 90 runs against Karnataka, a performance that defined his career. Though he hasn’t played for Delhi in the Ranji since 2012, with the Test series against New Zealand around the corner, it’s still up in the air whether he’ll return this season.
The cricketing legend’s return to the Ranji field for Delhi or whether the Test series would keep him away are two things that keep his fans excited. In any case, Kohli is the center of attention!
