With Zika virus spreading in Kerala, Tamilnadu government has intensified its efforts to prevent the disease.

More than 2,600 households along the Kerala border have been screened, said Health Minister M Subramanian.

Screening has started for Aedes mosquitoes as well. Subramanian said the claim that Zika would affect pregnant women more is mere speculation.

Travellers from Kerala are being screened at the airport following the outbreak of Zika virus in that State. Subramanian said Zika virus test is mandatory for all those who come from Kerala.
