Tight security in Chennai for Independence-Day

A multi-tier security blanket has been put in place in Chennai in view of the country’s 75th Independence Day.

For the first time, Chief Minister M K Stalin will hoist the National Flag at the State Secretariat.

Due to Covid-19, public and students are asked to stay away from the I-Day event. In view of the Independence Day celebrations to be held on Sunday at St George Fort, the city traffic police have announced traffic diversions on Kamarajar Salai and other adjoining areas from 6 am.
