Officials of the Enforcement Directorate confronted AMMK leader TTV Dhinakaran with ‘conman’ Sukesh Chandrasekhar, who is already in the agency’s custody, in connection with the alleged attempt to bribe an Election Commission official.

According to sources, ED officials questioned Dhinakaran for almost 11 hours.

The case started in 2017 when Sukesh was arrested by Delhi Police’s Crime Branch for allegedly fixing a deal with Dhinakaran, who was in AIADMK at the time. Sukesh had assured Dhinakaran that he would get the AIADMK’s two-leaf symbol for his faction if he paid up Rs 50 crore. Dhinakaran later founded the Amma Makkal Munnetra Kazhagam with his aunt VK Sasikala and is now its general secretary.

Dhinakaran was also arrested by the Delhi Police. Later, the police filed a charge sheet against Dhinakaran and Chandrashekhar before Patiala House Courts.
