COVID cases almost double in Chennai

Tamilnadu reported 144 fresh Covid-19 cases on Tuesday, nearly 1.5 times more than 90 cases it reported on Monday. Fresh cases in Chennai nearly doubled to 82 from 48 in the last 24 hours.

With the increase in fresh cases, active cases rose to 927 from 862 on Monday.

Meanwhile, Health Secretary J Radhakrishnan asked the district Collectors and Greater Chennai Corporation officials to ensure wearing masks, follow up on vaccinations and social distance.
